March 2010
I usually don't have anything to blog about and now that I actually do I have gone and let myself get way behind. I will start on our trip to California. We went to Fresno and spent a few days with Adams family and then we drove over to Gilroy, which is by San Jose, for a golf tourney for Nicklaus. It was at the prettiest course Nicklaus has ever played and trust me he has played many. It was also the hardest. It was a course designed by Johnny Miller and every green was surrounded by the deepest sand traps you have ever seen. It was fun and Nicklaus did okay. He finished 6th which isn't all bad since he hasn't played golf in like 5 months. I LOVE watching Nicklaus play golf.

I have never been to San Fransisco so I asked Adam if we could drive up there for a few hours. I loved it. I thought it was a beautiful city. I loved how the inner city was. I also loved all the houses smooshed up together and their yards that consisted of 1 foot of grass by the front door. I really did think it was a charming city and would LOVE to spend some more time there. We drove across the Golden Gate Bridge which I thought was pretty cool too. We also ate at one of the coolest restaurants ever. It's called Rain Forrest Cafe. It is like the one that is in the movie Mall Cop. It was so sweet. It had these huge aquariums everywhere and then every so often the animals would all come alive "figuratively speaking" and make a bunch of noise. I huge volcanic waterfall was right in the middle and mist was everywhere. The atmosphere more than compensated for the outrageously priced food.

And one last thing, everyone who know me knows what a freak I am about all the cool things that grow in California that we can't grow in Utah. It amazes me that people could have an avocado tree, or almond tree, or lemon tree in their own back yard and yet they don't. If I lived there I would have one of everything. But then I don't have a fruit tree at my house in Utah either. I loved the drive from Fresno to Gilroy. You pass miles and miles of fruit groves and grape fields. I think it is absolutely beautiful. Gilroy is the garlic capital of the world and boy you could sure tell. It was a fun, quick, impromptu trip, which is what you get when you are married to a Britt.
